Spectracell Micronutrient Test Instructions

Follows these instructions for a smooth test process and timely test results. Please read all of the instructions in advance of arranging the FedEx pickup and the blood draw, so you understand how the timings of these need to be co-ordinated.

Preparation (Before Your Blood Draw)

1. Freeze Ice Brick: Freeze the provided ice brick for at least 24 hours before your blood draw.
2. Check Test Kit Contents: Ensure you have everything before booking your blood draw:
   • Two yellow top blood collection tubes
   • Requisition form (filled out with your information, but NOT payment details)
   • Ice brick
   • Biohazard bag
   • FedEx shipping bag with a pouch containing:
     • Commercial invoice (requires your input)
     • CDC document
     • FedEx prepaid shipping label
3. Complete the Commercial Invoice:
   • Enter shipper information (your details)
   • Add country of origin and date
   • Sign the form
4. Prepare Requisition Form: Place the completed form in the outside slip of the biohazard bag.
5. Confirm Phlebotomist Instructions: Ensure the sample is inverted 8 times after collection for proper mixing.

Blood Draw & Shipping

1. Schedule Your Blood Draw:
   • Blood must be drawn Monday – Wednesday (NOT on or the day before a U.S. federal holiday).
   • Do the blood draw as early in the morning as possible and have FedEx pickup your sample immediately afterwards or as soon as they can (you will need to schedule the pickup in advance). This will increase the chances of your sample arriving in time.
   • Alternatively have the blood draw done as early in the morning as possible and deliver to the FedEx depot yourself.
2. Package the Sample Properly:
   • Label both collection tubes with your name, date of birth, and the date and time of collection.
   • Place the blood sample inside the biohazard bag and then into the larger compartment of the test kit to maintain temperature.
   • Place the frozen ice brick in the small compartment of the test kit.
3. Ship the Sample Same Day:
   • Use FedEx overnight shipping to ensure next-day delivery to SpectraCell Laboratories in Houston, USA.
   • Drop off at a FedEx facility or schedule a same-day pickup. Do not use a FedEx drop box.

Additional Notes

• No fasting required before the blood draw.
• No need to change your supplement regimen before testing.
• Turnaround Time: Results are typically available within 10-14 business days.
